Grading the land for the construction of a slab foundation is a key factor when building. The soil is flattened to remove air pockets, allowing it to better support the grade slab. A concrete slab set into the ground will serve as the foundation for the structure. A synthetic sealant is normally required to be applied to the top surface of the slab on grade to minimize dusting of the slab, and to offer some protection from salts and other corrosive material, that may fall on the slab during its lifetime.
